Inbox filter: choose which emails show in your Inbox
Use the inbox filter to show only email sent to the addresses you choose, keep newsletters and automated mail out, and block senders. Filtered mail is kept under Filtered, never deleted.
Updated
If your connected mailbox also gets personal mail, newsletters or messages for other addresses, the inbox filter keeps your CRM Inbox focused on business email. Only email sent to the addresses you choose shows in your Inbox. Everything else is kept aside under Filtered; nothing is deleted.
Where is the inbox filter?
- In the Inbox, click Inbox filter at the bottom of the folder list (on a phone, tap the filter icon above the conversation list).
- Or go to Settings → Notifications, find the Business email inbox card, and click Inbox filter.
How do I set it up?
- Under Show emails sent to, add the addresses that should appear in your Inbox. By default this is your business email address. To include a whole domain, add it as
*@yourdomain.com. - Under Seen in recent mail, click Add next to any address your recent mail was sent to that you want to include.
- Optionally, under Never show emails from, add senders (or
*@domain.com) to always keep out of your Inbox. - Tick Skip newsletters and automated mail (it starts off) to keep mailing lists, auto-replies and bounce notices out of your Inbox.
- Check the preview, for example "18 of 25 recent emails match", then click Save filter.
You can add up to 50 entries in total.
How does the filter decide what shows?
- An email shows if it was sent to (To or Cc) one of the addresses you chose. A domain entry also covers its subdomains.
- Email sent straight to your CRM forwarding address always shows.
- Saving the filter re-applies it to the mail already in the CRM, in both directions, so previously filtered mail can come back into your Inbox.
Where does filtered mail go?
Filtered conversations stay in the Filtered folder. They're left out of your other folders and unread counts, new-email pop-ups, the Needs attention list, and the AI assistant. Nothing is deleted, and nothing changes in your actual mailbox.
