Lead finding · Starter & Pro

Find local businesses to pitch, with emails they publish

Ask for the customers you want, like property managers in Kelowna or offices in Halifax. The assistant finds local businesses on OpenStreetMap, reads the email each one publishes on its own website, checks it can receive mail, skips anyone already in your CRM, and hands you a lead list to approve.

In plain English

Try asking for

  • “Find 50 property managers in Kelowna with emails.”
  • “Find office buildings near downtown Victoria I could pitch for janitorial.”
  • “Get me short-term rental hosts around Nanaimo.”
  • “Find 40 restaurants in Halifax with emails and draft an intro email.”
  • “Only the ones with an email, please.”

Lead finding

How it finds and checks leads

Real local businesses

It searches OpenStreetMap for named businesses in your area: property managers, office buildings, rentals, hotels, restaurants, clinics, gyms, daycares, salons, offices and more. It widens the area or tries related categories when the first search comes up short.

Emails they publish themselves

For each business it reads the website's home, contact and about pages for a published email, preferring one on the business's own domain. An email listed only on the map, not on their site, isn't used.

Checked before you see it

Each email's domain must accept mail. Placeholder, no-reply and junk addresses are dropped, and two businesses can't share the same email.

No duplicates

Leads already in your CRM, matched by email, phone, website or company name across every client and lead list, are left out.

Consent basis on record

Every lead records where and when its email was published. Sites that say they don't want unsolicited messages are skipped.

Not for texting

Businesses found online haven't agreed to receive texts. Text campaigns and automated texts skip them, so their phone numbers are for calling.

Step by step

From request to a list you can email

  1. Ask

Say who you want and where. With no area, it uses your business's area. Ask for “with emails” to get an email-only list.

  2. It works in the background

Watch it search, check websites and count emails live, or keep working. You get a notice when it's done.

  3. Review the card

See the list name, how many have a published email, phone-only counts, sources and the first rows, including where each email was found.

  4. Add the list

Confirm and it's saved under Campaigns with every lead set to new. From there, run an email campaign or a one-card outreach.

Safety

Built around CASL from the start

Canada's anti-spam law allows business email when the address was conspicuously published, the recipient hasn't said no, and your message is relevant to their business. Lead finding is built around that rule.

Published by the business

Only emails a business publishes on its own website are used, and the source page and date are saved on every lead.

Refusals respected

If a site says it doesn't want unsolicited messages, its email isn't used.

Every campaign is identified

Your business name, mailing address, contact details and a one-click unsubscribe are added to every campaign email.

Questions

Lead finding: frequently asked questions

Where do the leads come from?

Businesses come from OpenStreetMap. Emails come only from each business's own website, such as its contact or about page. An email that appears only on a map listing isn't used.

How do I find commercial cleaning clients?

Ask for the businesses that buy cleaning, for example “find 50 property managers in Kelowna with emails” or “find office buildings near downtown Victoria”. The assistant builds the list, and you can follow it with an email campaign in your own voice.

Are the emails verified?

Each email's domain is checked to make sure it accepts mail, and placeholder, no-reply and junk addresses are dropped. Individual mailboxes aren't tested, so a small number may still bounce.

Is emailing these leads allowed under CASL?

CASL allows business email to an address that was conspicuously published, with no statement refusing messages, when your email is relevant to the recipient's business. Interdatum records where and when each email was published and adds your identification and an unsubscribe to every campaign. You're still responsible for what you send; this isn't legal advice.

Can I text the leads it finds?

No. Businesses found online haven't agreed to receive texts, so text campaigns and automated texts skip them. Call or email instead.

How many leads can it find at once?

Up to 200 leads per task. If it can't reach the number you asked for, it tells you how many it found and what it tried, and you can send it back to keep going.
